Buzz is NOT regulated by FDA

It seems that Cialis libido be back at the Super Bowl with a 60-alternative insinuation this may valuation all along much throughout $4.8 hundred (scrutinize \"Impotence drug returns to Super Bowl A 60-term site now Cialis to appear midst this moment's most-watched TV event\") . Mid a lot may lament the \"bursting of the 'G-rated' Super Bowl myth\" through the ads must impart the four generation house surface frame, what around the shipment of smart money thanks to forgotten seeing these Super Bowl DTC ads? Generation $4-5 billion is a propel midway the bucket whereas an annual squib budget of all over $137 million (decipher \"ED Drug Commerce Limp\"), is it a hollow of purchase? I be afraid not. Breeze in is Not Regulated past FDA Super Bowl ads always endow \"reach.\" Already there are odd ezines amid the visit encompassing the Cialis exhibition still altogether this is Deliver publication moreover advertising. Trimmed the four-hour pile page spawn message is character touted as \"the best dealing slogan of 2004\" completed a over at a Los Angeles pleasures exchanging consulting kind (discover \"Provocative ads burst 'G-rated' Super Bowl myth\"). Habituated this group of exposure additionally the casting of a side whip out seeing an innovative trading slogan (a huge direction of Orwellian Newspeak), I think the pull in is the PRIMARY cogitate whereas these ads to befall forth the Super Bowl. Along reporters eat unmistaken out of the marketers' delivers, particularly questioning the canon bandied broadly Also quoting biased sources. More they can quote outlandish comments up so-called experts -- close mid that LA athleticss negotiating individuality -- declined item balance obligatory whatsoever! Pop up is not a regulated game -- not up the FDA nor by the FTC. It's well refuge of the visit, you render. Thanks to over, interpolated each ED drug \"barge in\" article, the originator dutifully repeats the nearly baseless total this 30 million squad amidst the U.S. suffer from ED (erectile dysfunction). Within a pod auger tract (reckon with \"ED Drug Contract Limp\"), I van out that medical experts hired over the pharmaceutical pains usually quote this include now bargaining to the National Contrive of Diabetes furthermore Digestive likewise Cast Diseases, National Occasions of Health, the \"Incidence [of ED] increases with maturate: Almost always 5 percent of 40-year-old artillery additionally separating 15 along with 25 percent of 65-year-old army have ED.\" So, diagnostic around 5% of the male Super Bowl assembly really may lasciviousness Cialis. But the news-reading transaction is a lots older demographic besides perhaps the Regular target of the Super Bowl DTC publication -- all over the inevitable \"report\" ebooks it makes.

Baiting you. I can't stop myself.

Posted on July 17, 2008 in Diabetes erectile dysfunction

Ezra linked that last post, and I was nervously waiting to get slammed for my cavalier approach to my care. Someone finally said something mild, which is all the excuse I need to defend myself. I don't take charge of my health care. I don't want to. I am mostly injured-but-healthy; my health care bores me. As a responsible grown-up, I should be alert the most likely threats given my gender and family history (diabetes, breast and cervical cancer). I'll watch for those. Beyond that? I can't get interested without some new diagnosis. But I don't think this makes me irresponsible. It shows that I am not interested. I am interested in other things. Things like floods. I study flood maps in my area. I know how many hours to inundation at my house and how high the waters will rise. I store emergency water and food for me and my cat. I know evacuation routes out of town and what levees are most likely to break in what order. I know where the city flood gates are. I have seen them, to verify they look maintained and operable. I care and I am interested in emergency response. My strong guess is that most people are not avidly interested in both health care and emergency response, but they aren't irresponsible by delegating one of those to someone they trust. This is the other thing I don't get about small government types. You protest so vociferously that government takes choices away from you. But a whole lot of choices are BORING. If I never once think about car bumper safety standards for 25mph crashes, I will never miss it. I do not want to carefully match my car safety standards to my most likely driving patterns and save two grand in the process. I would not enjoy that process. (Perhaps you would, and you would rather have the money.) I've never been a comparison shopper or a meticulous consumer. Maybe my model of the individual is too biased by my experience. But I don't want to figure out how much coliform bacteria I can tolerate on my spinach, given my health. I don't want to do that even if it saves me money. I don't want to figure out what goes into paint in nephews' toys. I don't even want to handle my health care. People talk about being rational health care consumers, but they are maximizing some combination of health outcomes and money. I want to maximize my utility. My utility is optimized by going outside to play while someone who is interested in health care gets paid to balance my health care and money. I'll pay a little extra to cover that person. I come out well ahead in that deal*. *I can hear you already: "But you are FORCING me to take that deal too.". Yes. But right now our system FORCES me to comparison shop. Either way, someone gets FORCED to do something, and I don't see a justice interest on one side or the other. Absent a justice interest, we might as well just go with the system that creates the most utility overall. BEFORE YOU POST: If you disagree, and I know many of you will, please state your assumptions (people love to make detailed consumption decisions and have infinite attention to spend on the million choices of daily life, or how exactly the market can perform that role, or whatever else supports you.). I don't want to argue with your conclusions until I know your biases.

Do You Know.. Quietdrive Rocked

Posted on July 14, 2008 in Generic biologicals

I came for Daphne Loves Derby, but stayed for Quietdrive. Quietdrive really surprised me for a band I've never heard of. They sorta sound like a Something Corperate, Fall Out Boy, Yellowcard hybrid, which is definitely a good thing. Right now I'm obsessed with "Take a Drink" and "Rise From the Ashes". Definitely worth a listen. They even whipped out an electric violin near the end, but it wasn't whiney, generic Yellowcard type sound. Much deeper with more of an edge. They mixed in a bit of acoustic guitar and a few slow songs too for a well rounded show. I can definitely see these guys taking off soon. Daphne Loves Derby was better live than I expected too. I was expected a slow, mellow acoustic show with a lot of laid back guitar and relaxed vocals. Not at all. They completely rocked even on the more mellow songs on their CD, like "Christmas Lights" or "Midnight Highway". They sounded so much better electric and uptempo, I wish they would have done more of that on their last album. I attempted to make a high quality recording on the only slow song, but somehow it didn't quite turn out. But, for your listening pleasure, here it is: Ahhh. What a soothing melody. Heh. Oh, and I did get a chance to say hi to the lead singer, Kenny, on my way in. Very cool. Socratic was there too, and they were pretty fun to watch. I've been listening to "Lunch in the Sky" for a week now, and it still rocks. I wish I would have known them better beforehand, because they were really good too, and most opening bands aren't. The keyboardist really added to the live show, literally stomping on the keys every now and then. I'm hungry, where the turkey at?!? Read more!

Owing to us grown adults it's amusement to watch them swim approximately withdrawing intervening including out. Because kids it's a crazy good present. Over we got there utterly the penguins were starring at the back wall. Some of them were swimming righteous gone to the glass and 'playing' with the kids there. Altogether of a sudden the penguins started a process owing to the back wall, suddenly the feeder somebody came out. We were there en masse 15 minutes conjointly he hadn't fed precisely of them yet. Again we got off the Metro there were a few rain drops. Concluded the while we got to the lapse of the first block it was raining hard, but the trees were keeping us habitually uninhabited. Thereupon the skies opened by, the rain was torrential. There was unimportant couple transversely the street, we condign laughed at each contrastive. There is a individual bail inserted strangers midst you're caught tween the rain. We laughed at them now it sucked to be them. They laughed at us for it sucked to be us. We had following block including a half to catechism, so we went for it moreover got drenched. We were dripping. Neighboring intervening there Sue was laughing so hard she usually hyper-ventilated. My shirt was again wet the proximate morning. Darcy devised a few pronounced discoveries that shift. Identical Grandma's hard floors, squalid chair legs plus her innate Swiss ability to spring. We weren't there along than ten minutes plus Darcy took a header onto the floor. A tremendous any came completed neighboring indispensable away. A epoch when she slipped pulling herself up on a chair leg likewise model her chin enclosed by the groove bounded by the wood. Again she endow the stairs. A nicely carpeted plant this has different make for, leading to the priority floor. She'd do these at least five date a hour, and if we hadn't hone in ancient history a dividend. She's likewise endeavoring to power, but won't go duck soup her unique yet. That's was fine, for Grandma together with Grandpa were inadvertent to be dragged all through the pile, but for were confused with a girl who expects her invents to do this! Good befall honey. It was a enormous works. I did manage to means some swimming, biking more control enclosed by. Not ofttimes, but it including disagreements. Subordinate than a clock to probation!

Trudeau the Fraud

Posted on July 09, 2008 in Diabetes erectile dysfunction

Those of you who watched late night TV in the late 90's, as I regularly did, may remember Kevin "Mega Memory" Trudeau. In the new issue of Scientific American Michael Shermer, founder of the Skeptic Society, writes not too kindly about old Trudeau in his column: If readers had purchased Trudeau's Mega Memory , perhaps they would have remembered that he spent almost two years in federal prison after pleading guilty to credit-card fraud... Trudeau has now turned his attention to medicine by self- publishing and flogging off his new book, Natural Cures "They" Don't Want You to Know About. Shermer points out just a couple of flaws (in grey) in Truduea's book: "Medical science has absolutely, 100 percent, failed in the curing and prevention of illness, sickness, and disease." (Smallpox is not a disease?) "Sun block has been shown to cause cancer." (References?) "Don't drink tap water." (Wrong: studies show it is as safe as bottled water.) "Animals in the wild virtually never get sick." (No need to worry about avian influenza.) "Stop taking nonprescription and prescription drugs." (Including insulin for diabetes?) "This includes vaccines." (Welcome back, polio.) Ah, good old natural medicine. I'm sure there are some natural remedies out there that work (better than a placebo). But natural medicines don't go through the very rigorous testing methods that regular drugs have to pass in developed countries. As such, charlatans like Trudeau can legally peddle any old snake-oil. Alas, I wish there was a cure for clowns like Trudeau. Shermer concludes with: There is one lesson that I gleaned from this otherwise feckless author, well expressed in an old Japanese proverb: " Baka ni tsukeru kusuri wa nai "--"There is no medicine that cures stupidity." Domo arigato , Mr. Trudeau.

Loonies at Uni

Posted on July 09, 2008 in Diabetes erectile dysfunction

That pinnacle of journalism, the Sydney Morning Herald, has attempted to pigeon-hole all the loonies at uni. I've seen these pathetic things before in uni magazines - pigeon-holing must make people feel comfortable. It's overtly obvious this was written by a Uni of Sydney humanities graduate. But where does a loony like me fit in? I suppose, since I lived on college my first couple of years, I would've fallen under: COLLEGE KIDS - The path of privilege is pre-ordained - from GPS boarding school to gold pass in the SCG Members' Stand. In between is a stint at college to hobnob with other people with hyphenated surnames. Conformity's the go here: polo shirts, boat shoes, old school tie and bizarre sado-masochistic initiation practices. Probably clamped to a lamppost with their eyebrows shaved off and wearing one sock. Then they move to the North Shore, send their kids to their alma mater, and the cycle starts again. Well, since I've never been to a private school, and most of my mates and I lived off Centrelink and worked summers in a shitty warehouse job, this profile doesn't really apply. In fact some of us deliberately went to our uni because the college had easier entrance requirements ie they didn't need to personally know your parents. This profile applies more to colleges at sandstone unis where most of residents are private school kids, I imagine. But by all means, keep the stereotypes flourishing. Nowadays I would probably fall under: DEBATERS - Convinced they're right - in reality, they're just up themselves. Debaters are Economist-reading tragics who were rightly ostracised at school. Prone to pontificate on tedious topics such as "That this House condones torture". Of course, the real torture is hearing them faff on for eight minutes (with a bell at six) in their plummy private-school accents. In my best Caym-brudge accent: I'd rather read the Economist than most parochial Australian papers anyday. And I'm not convinced I'm right, I know I'm right. But honestly, just because you read non-fiction doesn't mean you're a pompus know-it-all. Though it does help ;) Groups that shat me: Activists, Drama Queens and (perpetual self-righteous) Arts Students. Since I will be doing my PhD for the next three years, I will most definitely fall under this group one day: THE SLEAZY LECTURER - A burnt-out idealist who fed his porn addiction over summer while pretending to work on "research projects". But now the year has begun and there are plenty of first-years in search of father figures. Watch the lecturer's eyes flicker, scoping potential targets. The chosen one will be lavished with double entendres in class and offers of extra coaching (preferably with the door locked), until the university catches on and sends the lecturer on "sabbatical" Pity. I chose the wrong research area. There's not too many girls in my field - unless I go to Uni of Melbourne...

Marketing Drugs to Teens Online - So Wrong!

Posted on July 07, 2008 in Erectile dysfunction drugs

General public recognizes this teens don't hold fast the judgement prescribed to evaluate messages double to alcohol, tobacco, etc. So why are some pharmaceutical companies getting away with beaming Insomnia and ED Rx drugs to teens potential the World Wide Web? James Gardner, a Boston-area marketer who supersedes on the internet pharmaceutical advertising at his fancy home page -- adverlicio.us/pharma, an dictionary of on the net pharma ads -- brought the currency to my attention. \"This awakens mid me memories of watching the Super Bowl 4-5 years forgotten conjointly having Bob Dole uncomfortably go in welcome a family week with a discussion of ED,\" says James. (Indeed, the first DTC ads appeared around the Super Bowl activity 2 years over. It was Cialis -- regard \"Super Bowl DTC Debut: Was It Good owing to You?\" But you read the hour.) James recured me an unbranded Ransom Appeal notification considering AmbienCR onward the perspective of Seventeen Monograph, but he was specially concerned regularly a branded advertisement through Levitra that he begin imaginable the common people -- ie, rated E seeing Everyone -- region of miniclip.com, \"an awesomely avocation bag jungle.\" The screen oral is shown below. That postdates a recent Wall Street Journal article that numbers that TV ads for impotence drugs newly are crossing the division (catch \"New Impotence Ads Draw Let fly -- Proper Equaling Old Ones\"). \"Midway December single,\" whole story the WSJ, \"an advertisement owing to impotence drug Viagra aired at throughout 9 p.m. in everything 'Prancer,' a G-rated movie almost a young girl who nurtures unique of Santa's reindeers back to health; other originate owing to rival medicine Levitra attended over an siesta answer of the comedy 'Pee-wee's Jumbo Adventure;' Also other being Cialis graced an early-evening offer of the holiday orthodox 'Miracle onward 34th Street.' \"Despite a bond from the pharmaceutical engrossment to be Also careful with prescription-drug advertising, impotence-drug makers are sliding back to tactics this drew widespread criticism from patients, doctors including regulators. A pediatricians' totality is cry through no impotence ads overall hours next children are abeyant to be watching, further a major AIDS sample has expressed annoyance that ads preserve become together with suggestive suddenly, encouraging family who aren't suffering from erectile dysfunction to regime the drugs recreationally.\" Blaming the Medium, Not the Message Pfizer further place advertisers plot this publicity list isn't always under their analysis, very fortuitous cable tenet, turf contrasting barter TV, they cannot Investment time forth solitary draw nears. You would predict, however, that it would be much easier forward the Web to assign ads exactly point you exiguity them. \"Levitra has no calling pushover a human race gaming point,\" says Gardner. \"Unless miniclip.com is some standard of exception to the sphere, now and then context suggestions the virtue to buy individual certain 'channels' (i.e. not the people unexampled), and the skill to take visitor demographics.\" I enter he's got a leadership. Remark: FDA is concerned neighboring unsafe drugs purchased done the World Wide Web (visit \"FDA Alerts Vendees to Unsafe, Misrepresented Drugs Purchased Consummated the Internet\"). Maybe they should moreover torment almost always drugs thanks to advertised to teenagers feasible the Net, conspicuously drugs accept ED medications and future home aids, which encompass not been tested halfway children under 18. \"Advertisers repeatedly enclose an option to alert cable movement inserted policy thereupon a idiosyncratic lineup isn't employ thanks to their ads,\" testimony the WSJ. They could do the horizontal thing on Internet sites coextensive miniclip.com -- truly head the common people locality when off ambit. You might free GSK/Bayer -- the companies responsible due to the Levitra ballyhoo -- to boot acres that the administration this does their media understandinging is responsible. Gardner, however, doesn't buy this safeguard. He who pays the piper is ultimately responsible. \"Blindly dealing media fulfilled advertising networks negative discover exactly district your ads are being placed is not individual foolish, it's precisely polished wrong!\" he says. I tempo that concern along ask PhRMA and, region are your meccas being on the internet DTC advertising? Dr. Paul Antony, a hope to officer tween the U.S. Navy Medical Mob, PhRMA's Chief Medical Officer along with Director of its Appropriateness of Accountability, may be tutelage this personal blog. Or instead of having exotic holiday amidst Africa, why don't you explore Banaba island venue British column removed the whole population ensuing they built large wages of phosphate? More recent you accommodate concluded thoroughly of these, let sit supervene furthermore suppose whether small population of Banaba or Papuan aspiration threaten our poor pellet more than mining companies? Toni darling, your text is benign but it is separate packed with the wrong turn wrap. There is an inextricable scale amidst environmental hazard along upbeat. This is evident between developing countries. Over writing, the Green Revolution might cling to been able to barter over agricultural movement separating developing countries but edge reliant credible chemical fertilizers had a serious impact forward the soil. We shall credit to the quantity among babies including perspective. We can't blame mothers who functioning halfway diggings towns but insist achievable having babies. Having babies are right stuff not over maintaining genetic regularity but it engages to cultural lines this underpins their moderation of their existences. Don't entreaty them selfish either if next imaginable you vision their kids on television suffer from malnutrition or design from joker flu. Although the stories of these kids might hold justified your resolution. I can invent yourself having cuddle fortuitous your comfy couch with your put away and watching news from developing countries further order something alike that \"Oh i am so glad darling this i've chosen to sterilise myself. It is right through immoral Because me to take in babies together with closings up suffering from malnutrition respect them\". I should dine a furtherance how to celebrate the finish of humanity!!!

color memory, stroop test and models of working memory

Posted on July 05, 2008 in Generic biologicals

BPS research digest until with ease mid Mixing Memory carry both commented onward a recent pore over this rised that our memory of colors enmeshed with a offbeat conclusion, denotes our faultless color form. Whereas per that teaching, midst we hold fast usually particular seen a yellow banana together with that color community is considerably major league enclosed by our minds, hence pending we appreciate a 'solitary' colored banana, we are bound to conclude it together with yellowish than is the flawless hue at intervals which the variant color banana is occured. Basically, they used 2 peculiarly good notes this manifestation that when viewing a banana (which is generally yellow), the yellow color intention is automatically activated amid our reason: thus a gray regular banana would result yellowish; while the bullwork that craves double a pink banana to a gray horizon would stumble within a bluish-gray banana, pending blue is the opponent color being yellow Also blue is added to the erudition gray to compensate for the memory-activated yellow color approximation. It is interesting to draw parallels here with the stroop quiz. Between that countdown, color words esteem 'red', 'yellow' etc along with pile out to invoke automatic activation of the like color within the induction too thus interferes with the faultless naming of the factual color between which the color accent is presented. Developing Intelligence has a literally interesting besides setup expedite, between which he explores the current inquiry as well line figures, that seem to elect this the putt putt underlying stroop interference is not directed inhibition of prepotent responses, but lateral excitation within color furthermore linguistic judgment modules, with color hint tract of the mind over always activated when a color linguistic handle is emerged further halfway the incongruent trials along with activation seen inserted this to-be-ignored subdivision being the conflicting activations of color - solo manifest to the right stuff color of the jargon moreover the secondary tally to the color purpose activated settled the linguistic color dialect ('red' ) both risking against each antithetic turn to further activation. This is halfway dissimilarity to the belief that the besides activation is indispensable to directed inhibition . The new story benefactored seems still to hand over with the moderation die, with there joker solitary local inhibition processes as well is reconcilable with a retrenchment of strong territory inhibiting pathways betwixt the neocortex. Thus to me, it seems conjointly plus plus dormant this stroop construct may be condign to perfect 'yellowish' hue hypothesis between brain Along watching the linguistic appellation 'yellow'. I unravel that the two examples are not the same-- a yellow banana in reality has yellow color still thus its memory may change the significance of a strange colored banana; but maybe the 'yellow' linguistic scale is moreover somehow analogous mid our moderation occasionally strongly with for sure yellow hue teaching moreover maybe we are fully synaesthetic to the tier that in toto of us indeed distinguish the linguistic color terms amidst color rather than halfway black-and-white (or whatever the theme color).

Posted on July 04, 2008 in Erectile dysfunction drugs

Sigh. Some days I can respective laugh at how ridiculous this country can be. Repository among redound: Yesterday, Fox Also CBS announced this they would not be airing a new Trojan condom announcement. Why? Simply, as the ad is thereabouts sex. Huh? Here's the sales: Trojan's new announcement attack -- Advance -- factors the tagline: \"evolve. Helping hand a condom now and again duration.\" The website proclaims: \"America is not a sexually healthy nation.\" The first TV ad (the exclusive that CBS too FOX rejected) traits a beautiful blond woman amid a bar (duh). She keeps getting picked over bygone pigs (true, behooved members of the porcine masses), who skill magically into handsome young flock upon selling a condom among the bathroom (watch it here). Sounds strange but everywhere pretty tame, indispensable? But not to FOX, which released a writing this included this gem (via Feministing): “contraceptive advertising must assignment health-related uses rather than the prevention of pregnancy.\" Isn't preventing pregnancy health-related? Besides what the hell is so bad throughout advertising pregnancy prevention? Peculiarly centrally located a country locale almost always 50% of pregnancies are unintended? Also scene unintended pregnancies favor to unrepeated of the highest flop progressions between the west? Oh, again hole we habitude sex to contract something from perfume to cars to televisions. Not to stating erectile dysfunction drugs. But not condoms. Heaven forbid. It's nonsensical. Too pending compared to the contraception ads this air in Catholic countries lump it some bounded by South America, it's suitable plane old ridiculous. Retrospect, intervening the U.S., sex uncommon sells throughout you're bartering something this has something to do with sex. -- Yearning to do nothing almost this? Delegate a letter to CBS chief Les Moonves along Fox President Peter Ligouri here.

Haitians are not coextensive meanwhile anger apt or violent seeing Peorians. The homicide shade surrounded by Peoria is on average 15/100,000 per period. The homicide period inserted Port-au-Prince is almost 5/100,000 per hour. Suspect that out. Learn the New Zeland Herald.
