-The Banquet Restaurant
Posted on August 06, 2008 in Causes of erectile dysfunction
The Banquet Restaurant's review. It is situated at the 3rd Exchange Commercial Centre. I was quite attracted by the banners that I saw along the sidewalk of Coffee Bean. It says "Do not plan your wedding dinner without consulting The Banquet." Something like that. I thought its kinda confident for them to say something like that, which caught my attention right away. Its very convincing as well. Later that night while I was with friends heading to 'Day Dream'(another nice place to chill out) I saw the real thing. I can't believe my eyes that it would look so grand. From what I expect is totally different. Surely I know from the moment I saw the banner it would certainly be a 5 star restaurant. Never like what i imagine. Anyway, I got so 'sakai' n stop my car beside it. Took so many pics. It was marvelous. The interior and exterior was beyond creative and beautiful. Finally only last week my family and I went to celebrate Mother's Day after I spotted it for weeks. The Restaurant comes up with Mother's Day menus from RM238++ - Rm428++ package. There are 3 packages offered. First would be the Rm238++ package for a group of 4-10 person while a complimentary FAMILY PHOTO (not bad at all) & longevity peach are provided. 2nd package would be RM338++ for 6 person. Lastly Rm498++ for 8-10 person. That's the nice part of it. But I personally have NEGATIVE reviews to it. It was a sunny that day. It got a little warm in there. Seems that theres no air-conditional at all. It's covered with glass. Almost half of it at least. With no curtains at all. The sunlight got straight in. Disastrous in the morning but it definitely is superb at night. That's the heat issue. Next would be the service. We took up the Mother's Day package. So, they ask us to reach at 1230pm. Ok then. we reach a little earlier, 1220pm. Waited and waited. 1235pm...mmm...ok. Chit chat our way through. 1240pm...still fine. 10 minutes had past. Tummy growling like hell but put on a nice show...smile...1245pm...we counted our minutes and that's as long as we can wait. Waited for damn 15 freaking minutes. So my mom ask one of the CHINESE waitress to check if our food is done yet. Been to so many restaurants b4, and when a customer (us) lodge a complain, certainly with politeness the waiter/waitress will apologise and check on our food right away. This was the different case. Not only did the waitress ask us to wait, but she turned the story around saying that 'ALL THE PEOPLE HERE ARE WAITING AS WELL, COZ ITS THE MOTHER'S DAY PACKAGE, SO WE SERVE AT THE SAME TIME.' WTF ...whats that about??? Thats a little too rude. Sounds more like 'CAN YOU WAIT AND SHUT JE MOUTH. I'M ALREADY HAVING AN HEADACHE WITH ALL THE COMPLAINTS AROUND.' A good restaurant won't let their customers waiting. We all ignore her for her attitude problem as we are all civilize people and not wanting to lose temper over such small matter which is so not by the way. Impression down. Atlas hurray the food arrive 5 minutes later. Lucky it was 5 and not 10. My dad surely will get grumpier. SO....wheres the chopstick...they serve us food with plates and bowls. What are they expecting us to do with those?!? I have no idea!!! So we kindly approach an Iban lady to have our chopsticks. She APOLOGIZE and flashed off. WoW!!! At least this won't give waitresses a bad name. Then each person brought a set of chopsticks to us. Weird huh. Why can't ONE person does it all??? I kept wondering. Still wondering now. BUT!!! I'm the only one not having a set of chopstick. AGAIN calling out for them. Man...that was frustrating enough. Customers are always right. There...I said what I wanted to say. That's what I expect from a 5 star restaurant. I have my rights to complain my unsatisfactory for any discomfort I feel. I manage to take some pics while waiting for the food to be served. My stupid brother took my pic when i was making fun of my face. I was imitating girl's famous cute pose. But I did something else instead. Nobody wanted to take my pic. I had no choice but to take my reflection from the mirror. Not the original me. Another poser in the family.

I came across someone elses blog and found this pic. What do you think??? What's your 1st impression towards the guy in this pic??? I was in shock for your info. A pretty gal with a monster at her side. Definitely in a torture chamber huh. I'm not being 'judgemental' but this fellow was, I mean, still is disturbing enough. He looks a little like my pet hamster, only, hmm...whats that word.... uglier, stupider and huger of cos. Ok, i don't blame him for being ugly. Everyone has got their ugly times and pics. So I'll skip the ugly part. A bad poser maybe. I have 2 words for him- Some Freaky Guy... that's 3 words . My bad. His left side of his body is so manly looking. And totally opposite looking on his right side of his body. Watsup wit the YEAH NO:2-pose. He is doing it all wrong. Someone just got to teach him how to pose the right way. Better yet, not do it at all. Creeps me out a lot. I'll definitely have nightmares tonight. And cumon, ever heard of a shave!!! Its so damn long. Wonder what does the school say. Raiders @ Patriots Preview from Fester's Place
Posted on August 05, 2008 in Impotence young men
I am ready for some meaningful football. (My fiancee is now rolling her eyes over the last two words in that sentence... but still). Tonight sees the Oakland Raiders visit the New England Patriots at Foxboro for the kick-off game of the Pats' quest for three straight. I see this as a reasonable objective for the Patriots, but it will, as always be a difficult journey. I see the Patriots as a well managed team that attempts to use its versatility as its core competence. As I have written before, the Patriots seek to take away the opposition's first choice option. The fundamental gamble here is that the Patriots are betting that their second, third or fourth preferred style of play is vastly superior to whatever the opponent's second preferred style of play. This was seen most notably in the 2002 Super Bowl against the Rams where the Patriots were able to disrupt Marshall Faulk for the entire game, and thus putting the offense solely on Kurt Warner's shoulders. The Greatest Show on Turf managed 17 points. This year, I think that the Patriots are significantly deeper and more versatile on offense. With the return of Ben Watson, I will be shocked if the Patriots do not line up with two tight ends for at least forty percent of their first downs. Dan Graham and Ben Watson present some intriguing passing game match-up problems for any team that does not have multiple rover linebackers/strong safeties (6-2+, 225lbs+, 4.5 or better speed) and if a team has a light fast defense in, the tight ends can stay in and assist the power running game. This is one of the many less than pleasent choices the Patriots force teams to make. This is a key illustration of what Bill Bellicheck has been attempting to build over the past five years --- situations where the best solution is still an unsatisfactory solution for the opposition. I am slightly worried about the wide receivers over the course of the season as Deion Branch, he of the amazing quicks, and fragile body, has yet to play a 16 game season. Troy Brown is old, as is Tim Dwight, while Andre Davis is new right now. Bethel Johnson has amazing speed, but is still inconsistent and injury prone. The only receiver I am not worried about is David Givens. However within this set of receivers, there is a wide diversity of skills and attributes that would allow the Patriots to quickly shift their offensive focus from short crossing routes in a West Coast Flavor to a vertical game. I would think tonight that the Patriots would want to take advantage of the comparative slowness of Oakland's big linebacker corps and run plenty of crossing routes and seam patterns with receivers and tight ends isolated against a linebacker who is bigger than some defensive ends. Now onto defense, this has been the forte of the Patriots' ability to mirror and deny an opponent's strength over the past four years. I am liking the defensive line quite a bit. I was surprised that the Patriots cut Rodney Bailey in favor of keeping undrafted rookie Mike Wright, but even still, the Pats in their base 3-4 have significant talent in their starters and impressive depth. Richardy Seymour and Vince Wilfork each demand two blockers on running plays, and Ty Warren will dominate against most right tackles when he is one on one. Oakland will be forced to keep their running backs or tight ends in to help block more often than they would prefer. The strength of the defensive line is the strength of the unit as a whole. If the three linemen and the typical pass rushing linebacker can force Oakland to keep seven blockers in, the task for the secondary just got a whole lot easier. I am not sure who the starting cornerbacks will be tonight, as the Patriots currently have four corners who have started for Super Bowl winners on the roster. I would imagine that the Patriots will attempt to play some aggressive man with zone support against Randy Moss and keep Chad Scott in as the physical bump and run corner for at least third down plays. I also anticipate the Patriots keeping Eugene Wilson in deep centerfield for most of the game, as I think that the Patriots would be willing to see Moss have a T-O type game if they can shut down everyone else on the field. They just need to avoid the multiple big plays that are Moss's bread and butter, even if that means giving up more 10-15 yard gains. I am not sure what the Patriot linebackers will be doing this year. The outside linebackers are experienced, fast, smart and solid. Roosevelt Colvin should finally be completely healed from his hip injury suffered two years ago while Willie McGuinest just gets craftier and better as his health is still with him. I doubt that Willie McGuinest will be healthy for the entire season, but Tully Banta Cain, in limited playing time, has shown some significant pass rush ability over the past year. Mike Vrabel is just a playmaker who is never out of position. The loss of the top three playing time inside linebackers from last year is a large loss which creates a significant question mark. I am glad that Vrabel is shifting to the inside, as he is smart, and it will keep the Pats' three best linebackers on the field more often. The question mark is who plays next to him --- Monty Biesel or Chad Brown. I think this will be a platoon position with Brown in on run downs and Biesel in on pass downs. I have a difficult time seeing how the Raider's defense can keep the Patriots from scoring, and so far, the Patriots have taken down better quarterbacks who play vertical passing games with comparative ease (Hi there Kurt, hi there Peyton.) I forsee a lot of pressure, and a lot of sacks against Collins unless the Raiders invent an effective screen game. Therefore, I am calling it 27-17 Patriots winning.

The Male Contraceptive Pill
Posted on August 04, 2008 in Erectile dysfunction
Okay who would take it? Lads on a night out? Unlikely, stupid to have unprotected sex. Men in a stable relationship? Probably, to share the burden of contraception. Can you see yourself taking a pill every day? How about having a small implant under your arm, like some women do? Maybe you don't like the idea of your hormones being mucked about with. Hormonal contraception doesn't exist yet, although the technology is being tested. Would you buy it?

Annoyingly it's the small things I'll miss, like easy printing of patient leaflets (rather than relying on the treacle-like NHS flow). I'm taking my pens home with me tonight. We've had a very productive weekend. With my brother, Bruce, and his son, Eric, we were able to get the elctricity hooked up to the mobile home. Now all we need to do on that is cover the long trench. That'll be easy with the tractor. We didn't get the well finished. We just ran out of steam and daylight. We did get water hooked up to the mobile home, however. We just hooked it up to my brother's well for now. Bruce has done an amazing amount of work to get us into our temporary home. The sewer that my cousin, Ricky, put in works like a dream, too. Ah, the things that become really important when you don't have them. We were very thankful for him this past weekend. While he was putting in the sewer system, he also dug the trenches for the plumbing and electricity. If he hadn't done that we would still be digging rather than having power at this point. I also put in a phone jack and ran the cable under the floor to the end of the house. We should have that live again on Thursday. Guess I'd better go buy a phone, now. We still haven't gotten our recently purchased '91 pickup running. It supposed to go to the mechanic today, but the battery is dead again. According to the charger the battery is fully charged, but we left it charging, anyway. I'm starting to wonder if we made a mistake buying this one. Also, my youngest daughter's Blazer had the door smashed in while it was parked this weekend. It's always something, isn't it? The bed we were sleeping on last night started falling apart on my side. I finally ended up staying up all night. It's not the first night I've stayed up since the fire. At least we've having an eventful year. James has rewitten the part of the book he lost in the fire and has started the new part of the story. Progress. If this post makes no sense, remember I had no sleep.
Drugs from Canada
Posted on August 01, 2008 in Generic prescription drugs
In the Vice Presidential debate last night, John Edwards detailed the Kerry-Edwards health care plan, stressing, among other points, their intention to allow importation from Canada: They've blocked allowing prescription drugs into this country from Canada. We're going to allow it. Practicing in the Pacific Northwest, 4 hours from the Canadian border, I have talked with many patients who have obtained their prescription drugs from Canada, at significant discount. I also have a few patients who have purchased drugs cheaply in Mexico. The appeal is obvious, and the logic can be hard to refute. Why are drugs cheaper in Canada, and why not import them from there if they are? The reasons for less expensive Canadian drugs are severalfold. Prescription drugs still on patent are price-controlled in Canada at the wholesale level by the Patented Medicine Prices Review Board (PMPRB), which sets the price of all new patented medications. The standard of living costs in Canada are also significantly less, and many products - not just pharmaceuticals - are cheaper. Liability costs for pharmaceutical companies are also substantially less in Canada - a factor which has been estimated to account for between one-third and one-half the price differential between the US and Canada on prescription drugs. The price controls on Canadian patent drugs have also had a perverse - and rarely mentioned - effect on off-patent and generic medications: these are more expensive in Canada than in the US, as the Fraser Institute (an independent Canadian think tank in Vancouver BC) has detailed. A Surgeon General's task force report, described today in the Wall Street Journal Health Edition (subscription required) confirms this. Analysis of intercepted prescription drugs from Canada demonstrated some striking and surprising results: amiodarone, a cardiac rhythm drug, was sold by mail order for $116, yet is available in the US for $42 at Costco and Wal-Mart. Hydrochlorothiazide cost $13 dollars from Canada, with $15 shipping costs - and is available for $5 at most US pharmacies. Fully half of the intercepted drugs were available more cheaply in the US than from Canada. Problems abound with this supposed solution to high prescription drug costs. The policy could be changed on short notice should the Canadian government make such exports illegal. Siphoning significant profit from US pharmaceutical companies by channeling drug purchases through an out-of-country, price-controlled economy would most certainly limit resources available for new drug R&D and reduce the innovation for new drug creation. And then there is the problem of quality control and potential fraud. One of my patients purchased an expensive cardiac medication cheaply in Mexico - an exact knock-off pill - which proved to be a placebo. Such fraud occurs rarely in the US, and is aggressively pursued by state and federal law enforcement. Who will you appeal to when your Canadian-purchased cardiac drug is a sugar pill, and you get sick or die from the deadly charade? Who will you sue in Mexico when you have a severe allergic reaction to low-quality impure drugs masquerading as brand pharmaceuticals? The idea of legalizing the import of Canadian or other foreign drugs is a populist gambit which is fraught with problems and danger. It is a prescription for our health care best avoided.

It had been a pretty busy, fast paced night with the usual collection of head injuries, gallbladder attacks, fractures, psychos, chest painers, gastroenteritises (gastroenteriti?) and such. Finally we had cleared out the ER and settled down for a little break. Ding! One more patient rang the bell. No problem, a teenager with an upper respiratory infection. In and out. It was late, or early (depending on your perspective) and we were all sort of spaced out in the 4 am daze. So I didn't immediately notice the wadded-up pile of sheets, blankets, and gown next to her. Or the wrinkled sheet sort of covering the stretcher, or the obviously used pillow. The patient didn't seem to notice either, nor did her parents. Finally, I did. "Is this your pile of stuff, or was it already here?" I asked. "It was there when we got here" she said. She had just sat down next to the pile. Nasty. I predict a scathing Press-Ganey. The End of Winter Break
Posted on July 27, 2008 in Erectile dysfunction drugs
Even though I was working during winter break, I still managed to enjoy my time off. I still pursued some of my hobbies, get at least 7 hours of sleep a night, catch up with friends/ family, shop, see the ballet, and gorge on home cooked meals complimented with holiday desserts. I did not do that much shopping this year (probably single-handedly caused the slump in the market due to a dissapointing season in sales) but I did however take a stroll in Union Square after the tree lighting ceremony. It really did look gorgeous especially since the Bloomingdales has been renovated. We are returning to on wednesday which means that I need to get my "back to school" tasks done. Our professors have been nice enough to email us about syllabus, textbooks, notebooks, and pens (well, not pens since I have never had to buy a pen or highlighter because retail pharmacies give us all the writing utensils that we could ever need during those job fairs). Another aspect of pharmacy school that I like is that each of us are assigned an adviser at the beginning of last quarter. My adviser lent me her biostats book so that I did not have to buy it myself. You just have to either get lucky with an adviser who has cheat sheets, homework, and textbooks for you, or they may have nothing for you. Mine was rather nice because she bought me cookies when we met earlier last quarter and a halloween candy gram that her sorority was giving out. Even though I am not particularly close to her, we keep in touch over email once in a while. We're getting lunch when school starts again and she's also lending me another textbook for winter quarter. I plan to do something nice for her for her advice and all. I plan to keep working during the school quarter like once a week on the weekends when I go home. I can make enough to pay off my rent every month (yeah!). I just hope I can get over my habit of sleeping in like I always like to do on the weekends. Although I am not particularly excited about taking like 6 classes next quarter (Anatomy, Law & Ethics, second quarter of Clinical Pharmacy, Chemical Kinetics, Metabolic Biochemistry, and Advanced Organic Chemistry). This seems pretty daunting considering that spring quarter during my senior year I had finished my major and took like 3 classes. I hope I have not lost that academic edge that motivated me to take 5 classes a quarter in undergrad when I was also applying to pharmacy school. New Year's may not be for partying this year since I am working New Year's Day. Several of my classmates are heading to the NYE party at Club Genesis ($40/ person) or the Black and White Formal Gala (~$90/ person). Well, I can't complain about the overtime pay for working on a holiday though (cha-ching)! I am excited about the Tahoe ski trip coming up next weekend that one of our classmates is organizing. We will be going snowshoeing, skiing/snowboarding, and shopping in Reno.

My eyes are closing on me but I just got to do some blogging now. Sleepiness can't stop me from doing anything. errr...unless I'm out of control and the only thing I will be doing is dozzzz off. Its a very extremely hot hot hot hot hot . Believe it or not, I bath like 5 times today. Confessions; I was a little sweaty. hehe... A little scrub under the arms and between those legs. Here and there refreshing atlas. Every single air-con in my house was on yet it doesn't help much. I even eat ice-cream and drank plenty of water. Nothing change. sigh. Today is a special day. There are lots of commotion going around. When I woke up this morning, theres a maid in my house. Doing her cleaning. I was quite shock actually as I'm still on my PJ's. How embarrassing. I'm kinda use to it anyway. Its not like I'm naked or anything. What the heck. My mom hired a maid just to clean up ONLY the fridge for a day. Like when do we care bout that. So as she was doing her thing, I went for a cold bath. Then monitored her as I was doing revision for my up coming exam. Its so round the corner but I'm so not prepared yet. sigh...sigh...sigh... I've covered Law subjects but have not touch business studies yet. But luckily I went for researches bout marketing and production. Interesting tho. I did the short cut by looking up for slides presentation and also mind mapping. That got me half way through. Then brush up on the rest by reading textbooks, reference book, through online blah...blah...blah. Hope that's enough. As I was saying, today is a special day. Both my parents called whole day. One after the other. I was so irritated. Showing my 'irritateness'(if theres such a word) to them , they called less. But still so annoyed. They were just checking out on the maid. Its kinda stupid tho. Coz my house is monitored by CCTV. 8 or 9 around my house. In and out. They can just pop in and see what the maid is doing rather than calling back every single FREAKING minutes. DAMN!!! Glad thats over. Later at night, my family and I went for our Saturday Family Night Dinner. Thats the only time we see each other. They are so busy with their works. Early in the morning, they went to work. I didn't even have a chance to say hi or good morning. Then late at night, they come home. I was either out or in my room. Barely got time to see or hear them. Maybe twice a week, if I'm lucky, I'm able to meet them. This had been going on since I'm young. But our relations are still good. Our communication is through the phone. Weird huh. Ok then. We went for Indonesia's cuisine at Crown Square for a change. I didn't catch the restoran's name. I went there for the food. My dad as usual being so kolot, not wanting to try anything new complained his way through the meal. Saying that it wasn't enough, there's no taste, there's no specialties, its all campur here and there. The old man just couldn't shut up. Being sarcastic I stated that its satisfying. I like the food so much. Its the truth. It was a little tasteless and I don't think thats a problem. Eating less salt will save your life. He is so 'Chinese'. Its a fact that most Chinese like adding too much salt in their food. The saltier it is, the better it taste. Kinda true. I like food which have lots of taste in it, but I prefer to have a 'light' meal. Not too greasy, salty, sweet, spicy...etc. But herbs I liky. Its taste so naturally sweet, salty, 'herby'. So we end our dinner and we went seperate ways. He went for his night life and I went to mine too. I joined the 2 Sharon. When I called out 'Sharon', both heads turn. I should NUMBER them.
