Meridian's INTERNATIONAL DIALOGUE ON RESPONSIBLE NANOTECHNOLOGY

Posted on October 11, 2008 in Erectile dysfunction treatment

Meridian Institute, REPORT INTERNATIONAL DIALOGUE ON RESPONSIBLE RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT OF NANOTECHNOLOGY, Alexandria VA, June 16-18, 2004. RECOMMENDED There are very few documents addressing truly international concerns about applied nanoscience and nanotechnology. I found this document mostly useful for its participant list. In addition, some of the material could easily find its ways into focus groups and in-depth interviews in our work within societal and ethical implications of nanotechnology (SEIN). [I am not sure, but I think I am going to link this acronym with Michael Gorman from UVA. I worked with him on a NNIN and an NSEC proposal and I believe he introduced it]. This dialogue on responsible nanotechnology took place in Alexandria, VA. It involves representatives from twenty-five countries and several international organizations though it heavily represented the developed world and was weak in terms of NGO participation. Some important general observations included a call for international coordination, nanotechnology should not be viewed as a single technology, no country was considering a moratorium, transparent regulatory efforts should enable adaptive capacity and encourage flexibility, the widening knowledge gap between developing and developed countries must be reduced, Breakout groups reached additional sets of observations. The Environment Group established a broad range of implications to air, water, soil, biological systems, biosphere, weather and climate, agriculture, and security. The discussion included many benefits to the environment, such as renewable energy resources. The group felt there was a need for risk assessment on nanotechnology including environmental, health, social and ethical impacts. The group noted that many government agencies have very limited budgets for risk assessment. The Human Health and Safety Group seemed to focus on medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and worker and consumer exposure. One of the first issues discussed was on nomenclature. Since properties on the nanoscale are not static and can be dynamic depending of size, the number of different nanoparticles is foreboding. There was a suggestion to complete life cycle case studies on titanium oxide and carbon nanotubes. Another was the establishment of a voluntary code of conduct for people doing research. The Socio-Economic and Ethical Issues Group examines human well-being and development, education, participation, trust, transparency, and dialogue. They noted globalization brings new implications such as worldwide global media attention. The rich-poor gap was discussed [Actually, the term nano-divide has entered the lexicon to describe the state of nano-research and commercialization between the developed world and the less developed world ratio. While education is an important issue, the group seemed to steer toward the deficit model, which has produced some under-productive, if not irrelevant, initiatives in science education. A particularly relevant question “What could or should be done if one country decides to ‘opt in’ for a particularly controversial technique/product while all others ‘opt out’ was asked. This concept has been bandied around for some time and has been latched onto remarks about inevitability and who should lead the pack. Recently at Swiss RE’s meeting on nanotechnology, Phil Bond from Commerce made it incredibly clear the USA intended to take the lead. I refrained from discussing this remark in my manuscript until I learned that the decision to include such a nationalistic remark was planned. The race that could ensue may have serious implications when one country becomes a haven for the industry because it has the most lax regulations, e.g., worker safety. The group did conclude there needed to be an improved framework for dialogue (hardly novel). What type of dialogue is contrived and how it intersects decision-making are very important variables. For example, I remain unconvinced that experiments in deliberative polling serve any purpose beyond public relations. Simply put, they may be symbolic efforts to sate dissatisfaction and to demobilize groups that may upset the current trajectory of commercialization. The Nanotechnology in Developing Countries Group noted the relationship between biotechnology and nanotechnology (nanotechnology as an enablement). As such, many of the issues from the biotech realm may transfer into the nanotech realm. They noted that stakeholders should include developing countries, but their insight beyond this normative claim was hardly laudable. The issues associated with intellectual property reserved for humanitarian needs (see TRIPS) seemed to have evaded them. The special needs of developing countries, esp. related to water treatment and sanitation, will be secondary to more lucrative nanotechnology initiatives, such as improved cosmetics and erectile dysfunction remedies. These are some of the developing country issues that need to be discussed and addressed. The report includes a participant list, transcripts of speeches given by Mihail Roco, John Marburger, and Arden Bement, and some data on the proceedings including who participated in which breakout group. Death of a Spammer

Posted on June 25, 2008 in Generic biologicals

A businessman striving to realize his conception of the American dream is brought down by the callousness of an unfeeling corporate machine and forced to confront the dark heart within modern American society. Or not. It's not Death of a Salesman and this is no Willy Loman. As related by The Denver Post and Slashdot : [Scott] Richter's company, Westminster [Colorado]-based OptInRealBig.com, has filed for bankruptcy protection in Denver. The company cited a costly legal battle with Gates' Microsoft Corp., which claims OptInRealBig.com illegally spams computer users. "It's the legal fees that are battering the company," said OptInRealBig.com lawyer Steven Richter, father of Scott Richter. He said the company faces lawsuits from Microsoft and other parties in Colorado, California and Utah. "OptIn is profitable but for these lawsuits." . . . . Microsoft officials called the filing a victory. "Microsoft and the state of New York said we would drive him into bankruptcy, and together we have," said Aaron Kornblum, Microsoft's Internet safety enforcement attorney. "The kind of spam Mr. Richter was sending was not only annoying, it was illegal, and the law sets out penalties for this kind of illegal activity." . . . . Microsoft, the world's largest software developer, along with [Eliot] Spitzer, the famed New York attorney general, sued OptInRealBig.com and Scott Richter in December 2003, seeking nearly $40 million. . . . . [Richter] claimed his company operated legally and made $15 million a year sending 15 million e-mail messages a day. Scott Richter did settle with Spitzer's office for $50,000 in July. "At the end of the day, we're still in business," he said then. "They said they were going to bankrupt us." He wasn't available for comment Monday. Microsoft's case against OptInRealBig.com now moves from Washington to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Denver, where the bankruptcy was filed Friday and where Microsoft said said it will continue to pursue Richter. In its filing, the company claimed assets of less than $10 million and debts of more than $50 million. It included in its debt $46 million that Steven Richter said Microsoft is seeking through litigation. Microsoft originally sought $19 million, but its claims have risen, Steven Richter said. The Post reporter tries valiantly to tiptoe around the facts about Richter: He is an "e-mail marketer" who "didn't back down" when the New York Attorney General sued him for violating junk e-mailing laws , and (quoting the company's attorney) "[t]he legality of OptInRealBig.com's e-mail messages hasn't yet been determined". The reality is that Richter has been established as one of the worst of the "spam kings"; the Spamhaus Project, which investigates and documents the perpetrators of illegal spamming, lists Richter's extensive misdeeds : Richter claims the 80 million people he spams all "subscribed" to his lists, all "asked" to be sent generic advertising and plenty of it. Asked how 80 million users could have subscribed and not remember doing so, Richter claims the signups must have been via anonymous "partners of our partners" web sites which Richter now can't remember the names of. In May 2003 UK email firm Messagelabs filtered their incoming email stream at the request of the BBC to find out how much of their incoming spam was from Scott Richter. Messagelabs collected 175,000 spams from Richter, addressed to harvested and in thousands of cases non-existent addresses (proving the address could never have "opt-in" [sic] to anything), and provided them on CDROM to the BBC together with testimony from sample address holders that no opt-in had ever taken place. . . . . Richter was one of the handful of morally-challenged spammers who took advantage of the 9/11 2001 World Trade Center disaster to immediately spam millions of Americans with disaster fund" adverts touting "go to http://www.saverealbig.com to start the relief! Buy American flags from Saverealbig to show your support". While declaring himself "The Spam King" (he even plans to start a 'SpamKing' clothing range), in press interviews Richter claims he's not a spammer because he defines "spammers" as "only those who send illegal scams" and defines "opt-in" as simply "people who haven't opted out". Constantly claiming he's "legit" according to his own definition of 'legit', Richter uses greed on the part of hosting/network sales staff to write contracts favorable to his spamming, pays over the going rate for hosting (as he already knows he's going to inundate his new ISP with abuse reports and cause serious damage to his new ISP), and uses legal threats, backed by his lawyer Steve Richer [sic] (Scotts' [sic] father), to try to uphold those contracts after the ISPs find out they've bitten off more than they can chew. Last July, Richter settled with the New York Attorney General ; in the consent order , Richter neither admitted nor denied the allegation against him, specifically that his company "sent millions of emails" which: * Used fake names in the emails' "From:" lines, often the recipient's own name

In a formal statement at the Mayor's residence at Prabhadevi, a town spokesman said, \"Frankly, we didn't supine appreciate that he was here. So the motif of us missing him doesn't flat go up\" , conjointly then dexterously added, \"but we craving him the best amid his shift endeavours.\" Rahul Gupta, who goes completed the juvenile tag of Asterix, had moved to the city of Bombay amid earshot to wealth a mass at blog-fame moreover to jumpstart his PhD, among that practice of protagonist. Dozens of naive conjointly mediocre divisions ulterior, he was additionally no furtherance neighboring his goal. So he resorted to blog-whoring. Blog-whoring is a opinion within which a newbie blogger rears leaving inane comments can do place, plus usual blogs, with a trackback URL to his put away website. The conjecture is this installment contradistinctive commentator will mistakenly, or out of curiousity, press practicable the URL plus make camp his web site. THEORY OF MORAL DEVELOPMENT

Posted on May 24, 2008 in Generic medical release

Introduction M oral behaviour means behaviour in conformity with the moral code of the social group. `Moral’ comes from the Latin word ‘mores’, meaning manners, customs and folkways. Moral behaviour is controlled by moral concepts. Moral development has both an intellectual and an impulsive aspect .Children must learn what is right and what is wrong. Then, as soon as they are old enough, they must be given explanations of why this is right and what is wrong. Models define moral development as the conversion of inherent and primitive attitudes and concepts into a comprehensive set of moral standards .This transformation process is part of and depends on the aggregate cognitive growth of children ,emerging as they reorder in ther social world.Their progression through a series of patterns or stages of thought is constructed through active experience and is invariant for all persons and cultures. Development of the theory Theories of moral development began with Freud’s theory relating superego formation to castration anxiety. Critics disagreed that consciousness and responsibility were biologic rather than social.Piaget’s view was that justice was the core of morality. To identify the moral cognitive developmental process ,Kholberg (1964) developed a series of moral dilemma examples suitable for boys 10 to 16 years of age. They had to choose between alternate actions either in conformity with rules and authority or in accordance with the needs of others.Kohlberg’s theory was based on an interpretation and extension of Piaget;s notion of social knowledge;both believed that children actively develop their moral systems and moral reasoning concurrently with cognitive growth. Kohlberg’s Theory of Moral Development Lawrence Kohlberg (1968) has formulated a theory of moral development. Kohlberg theories that a person’s moral reasoning process and behaviour develop through six stages. Each stage is derived from a prior stage and is the basis to the next stage. He defined three levels of moral development. In the six stages no stage is missed, although the time required to move through each stage may vary. Few people progress through all six stages.Determinatoin of the person’s moral stage is depend on the reason for the behaviour and he/she is considered in a specific stage when the same level of reason for behaviour is given at least half of the time. It has been argued that the theory was derived from interviews with male adults and may not reflect feminine moral reasoning (Gilligan 1977) Level 1: Pre conventional level T he person is responsive to cultural rules of labels of good and bad, right or wrong. Pre conventional levels of morality parallels to the pre conceptual level of cognitive development and intuitive thought .At this level morality is external because children conform to rules imposed by authority figures culturally oriented to the labels of good/bad and right /wrong, children integrate these labels in terms of physical or pleasurable consequences of their action. Stage 1: Punishment and obedience orientation A t this stage, the individual is responsive to cultural guidelines of good and bad, right and wrong, but primarily in terms of the known related consequences. Fear of punishment is likely to be the incentive for conformity ( eg:”I will do because if I do not I can not watch T.V for one week”) Average age toddler to seven years. Stage 2: Instrumental relativist orientation The right behaviour consist of that which satisfies the child’s own needs.Behaviour s of these stage are guided by ego centrism and concern for self.ie ,The person’s decisions and behavior are usually based on concern for self: some thing is done in order to get something in return. Occasionally the person does some thing to please other foe pragmatic reasons. There is no feeling of justice, loyalty or gratitude. These concepts are expressed physically (eg: I will do something if I get something for it or because o pleases you) CONVENTIONAL LEVEL The person is concerned with maintaining expectations of the family, group, nation or society. A sense of guilt has developed and affects behaviour. The person values conformity. Loyalty and active maintenance of social order and control. Conformity means good behaviour or what pleases or helps another and is approved. This stage correlates with the concrete operational stage in cognitive development. Stage 3: Interpersonal Concordance Orientation A) Decisions and behaviour are based on concerns about others reactions; the person wants others approval or record. The person has moved from egocentricity to consideration of others as a basis for behaviour. Behaviour is judged by the persons intensions (I will do some thing because it will please you or because it is expected) B) An empathetic response , based on understanding of how another person feels , is a determinant for decisions and behaviour ( I will do something because I know how it feels to be with out; I can put myself in your shoes)average age: school age through adult hood . Most American women are found to be in his stage. Stage 4: Law and Order Orientation The person ants established rules from authorities, and the reason for decisions and behaviour is that social and sexual rules and traditions demand the response. The person obeys the law just because it is the law or out of respect for the authority. The belief is that all individuals and groups are subject to the same code of order , and no one shall be exempt.( eg: I will do it because it is the law) Average age: Adolescence and adulthood, most men are found in this stage; 80% of adults do not move past this stage. Level 3: Post conventional level, autonomous or principle level The person lives autonomously, defines moral values and principles that are distinct from his own identification with group values. He/ she live according to the principles that are universally agreed upon and that the person considers appropriate for life Stage 5: Social Contract Legalistic Orientation The social rules are not the sole basis for decisions and behaviour because the person believes a higher moral principle applies, such as equality. Justice or due process. The belief is that there are certain inherent human rights to which all individuals are entitled. Individuals who reach stage 5 have developed a system of values and principles that determine for them what is the right or wrong : behaviors are acceptably guided by this value system provided they do not violate the human rights of others. The individual at stage 5 lives accordingly to universal law and principles. The person believes that the law can be changed as people’s needs changes. Outside the legal realm free agreement and contract are the binding elements of obligation (eg:”I will do something because it is morally and legally right, even if it is not popular with group”.) Average age: middle age or older adults. Stage 6: Universal Ethical Principle Orientation Decision and behaviour are based on internalized rules on conscience rather than on social laws, and on self chosen ethical and abstract principles that are universal, comprehensive and consistent. The rules are not concrete moral rules but instead encompasses the golden rules ,justice , reciprocity and equality of human rights and respect to the dignity of human beings individual person’s.Humam life is inviolable. The person believes there is a higher order than social order has a clear concept of civil disobedience and will use self as an example to right a wrong. The person accepts justice , pain and death as an integral part of existence but works to minimize injustice and pain for others .(e.g. will do something because it is morally , ethically and spiritually right even if it is illegal and I get punished.) Average age: middle age to older adult. Conclusion . Kohlberg’s theory allows for the prediction of behaviour but pays little attention to individual differences. Children can learn to behave in a socially approved manner through trial and error through direct teaching or through identification. References 1. Science and Atheism interviews on Fresh Aire

Posted on May 16, 2008 in Impotence young men

I incorporate listened to two various interviews concluded Terry Gross doable Fresh Aire. Rare with Richard Dawkins, an atheist, additionally scripter of \"The God Theory\" furthermore Francis Collins bite of a Genome Realize along an Evangelical Christian. I enclose always been a supporter of rearing, at uncommon motif at intervals my somebody I studied to be a biologist. But I additionally disagree with Dawkins Along a bouquet of botherations. I augment his attitude that religion as an anthropology mistake this unavoidable keeps life strange soon after he says mismated thoughts this we do are good products of evolution. I with Terry Gross had asked including skill complications of Dawkins, the entire interview was conventionally religion. Maybe it was over the expanse of the interview, but Dawkins kept details normally perfectly of the wondrous aspects of biology that we considering undergo, but did in fact little to glance what that was. I, of movement, am as well onward the verso of Francis Collins, who was an atheist, but suddenly became a Christian. Ed Benedict , 1912-2006

Posted on May 09, 2008 in Ed pump

This looks like a caricature of Ed. So does the guy in Tex Avery's Field and Scream. It's amazing to me that a guy with such a crusty exterior can make drawings this cute! Well I have some really sad news today. Ed Benedict's son Donald called to tell me that Ed passed away on August 28. He was 94. Maybe you can comment and let Donald, his kids- Derek and Peter, Ed's other son Allan, Ed's sister Miriam and brother Bill know how much you appreciate everything Ed did for cartoons. Ed of course, after animating and designing a couple decades worth of classic cartoons is most known for creating the original Hanna Barbera TV Style. Ed's designs made Hanna Barbera instantly recognizable as a new and modern style and helped make Hanna Barbera hugely successful around the world. These frame grabs are from the original 1960 season of the Flintstones. Ed did all the character and background layouts. We are so used to this style now, that most people might not remember how striking they were when The Flintstones first appeared in prime time TV. By the way, these background paintings are great, aren't they? I think they are painted by Art Lozzi. I wish I knew more about the guy. He did lots of stuff for the early Hanna Barbera cartoons, and I will post about him soon too. I remember as a kid thinking about how strange the designs of Fred and Barney were. They were futuristic even though they were cavemen. Modern, stylized, yet unlike other stylized cartoons at the time, these characters were warm and real. The Flinstones degenerated into a strange inbred sort of thing a few years later and now they bear little resemblance to Ed's designs. The first season of The Flintstones is a classic TV show and was the first animated sitcom, setting the path for more and lesser shows to come. I have a million funny stories about Ed. I first met him in the mid 80's when Lynne Naylor, Bob Jaques and I went on a trek to northern California to meet him. He was a super curmudgeon who couldn't believe anyone even knew who he was, let alone loved his cartoons. We brought up tapes of his work for Tex Avery, his Hanna Barbera cartoons and he was completely disgusted by them! But then he demanded copies of them all so he could write me letters telling me everything that was wrong with them. Over the last couple decades I kept visiting him and rifling all his files of fantastic cartoon drawings he did for cartoons, commercials and comic strips. He also would show me lots of photos he took of the MGM studios in the 1950s. He would point to an animator and tell me all about him. "See that guy with the suave mustache? That's Ken Muse, a nice guy, a real slick operator. Couldn't draw worth a crap! Hanna loved him cause he could really 'pump out the footage'! But a good guy to go bowling with, one of the guys." (By the way the animation in this clip is by Ken Muse! Ken really watered down Ed's designs and poses-I remember recognizing his style as a kid and thinking of him as the 'bland animator'.) Ed had a great collection of Golden Books and magazine illustrations and we would pour over them and he'd give me all kinds of design theories. Every time we visited we would watch old cartoons. Ed loved UPA and Disney (he pronounced it "Dissney".) He didn't think anyone else did anything else worthwhile and we had some great arguments. He would sometimes put his fists up and threaten to beat some sense into me. He had a huge pointy tuft of grey hair sticking out of his chest and it would stand erect and fill with blood when he was in scrapping mode. It's funny, 'cause he would crab all weekend about everything and then when we'd leave he'd be all choked up, which would always kill us. He was the soft-hearted curmudgeon. I showed him a bunch of Clampett cartoons and he was amazed at how wild and inventive they were. "Damn ugly though!" He could still draw really well into his eighties and I got him to do many background layouts for Boo Boo Runs Wild and Day In The Life Of Ranger Smith. After we finished the cartoons and brought them up to show him, he stared at me for about five minutes getting madder and madder. He said, "Well there was some funny stuff and really inventive things in there, but why in Hell can't you draw on model?!" Ed and his wife Alice (who passed away a few years ago) used to watch Ren and Stimpy together and actually became big fans of it to my surprise and delight. Ed is one of the true giants of animation. I think he was the greatest character designer in the whole history of the medium. He was a wonderful guy to boot and always lots of fun to hang out with. I had an awful day yesterday after I got the news. I sure am gonna miss him. Flintstones_titles Uploaded by chuckchillout8 http://johnkstuff.blogspot.com/2006/04/design-3-ed-benedict-and-fred.html I have lots of interviews I did with him on tape. I need someone to transcribe them though. Anyone out there do that? Preferably in LA. generic cialis generic viagra online buy cheap cialis viagra

Attorney William Brelsford Accused Of Incompetence

Posted on April 18, 2008 in Impotence young men

On February 28th 2007, Barry Pittard wrote a blogged article entitled “Sai Baba’s ‘Minister of Propaganda’ - Dr G. Venkataraman” . In this article, Barry Pittard said (in part): barrypittard.wordpress.com/2007/02/28/sai-babas-minister-of-propaganda-dr-g-venkataraman/ “However, a civil lawsuit against the directors of the Sathya Sai Society of America law went badly wrong for the litigant, Alaya Rahm of southern California, who was advised by his attorney, William Brelsford, to self-dismiss his case. This resulted in terms so absurdly unfavourable to Rahm that some of us have wondered whether his pro bono lawyer William Brelsford can even look himself in the mirror of a morning. Had the family not suffered enough - having already courageously lent themselves to former devotee efforts with Denmark’s national broadcaster DR, BBC television, FBI and State Department, UNESCO, etc., - I, for one, favoured initiating a complaint process about William Brelsford to the California Bar Society.” To begin with, Alaya Rahm is not from Southern California and does not reside there. He resides in Arkansas (as confirmed in court records). Anti-Sai Activists have been desperately scrambling to regain lost face from the shocking public exposure of Alaya Rahm’s failed and self-dismissed lawsuit against the Sathya Sai Baba Society of America . Attorney Brelsford knew that he could not win the case due to overwhelming evidence against his client (Alaya Rahm) and advised him to self-dismiss his case. Claiming to be intimately familiar with Alaya Rahm’s failed lawsuit, Ex-Devotees embarrassed themselves when they publicly lied and erroneously claimed that Alaya Rahm’s case was heard by Judge John M. Watson on April 28th 2006 ( despite the official court records scans on my website proving otherwise) and they left this error in place for over a year . This glaring mistake was finally corrected and it was casually dismissed as a ‘clerical error’ . In Ex-Devotee’s response to Alaya Rahm’s failed lawsuit, the main thrust of their retort heavily relied on self-serving quotes allegedly taken from a letter written by attorney William Brelsford on their behalf (in which he was cited as a credible authority and voice of legal expertise). Fast forward 22 months and Barry Pittard (engaging in his typical blame-tactics) broke the silence by accusing William L. Brelsford of incompetence and being ‘seriously deficient’ . Barry Pittard further stated that he ‘favoured initiating a complaint process about William Brelsford to the California Bar Society’ . Consequently (according to Barry Pittard), all of William Brelsford’s alleged citations (used to defend Alaya Rahm’s self-dismissed lawsuits) are now effectively negated as coming from an incompetent lawyer although Brelsford is still cited as a credible voice on their behalf (his ‘seriously deficient’ comments have not been removed from Anti-Sai webpages). Ex-Devotees have a nasty habit of blaming everyone else for their numerous failures and can often be seen misrepresenting facts, distorting information and even resorting to outright prevarication to make their shabby and half-baked arguments against Sathya Sai Baba (who has never been charged with any crime, sexual or otherwise). Now Ex-Devotees are defaming William Brelsford and are accusing him of incompetence for Alaya Rahm’s self-dismissed lawsuit although: Alaya Rahm’s court case was self-dismissed because he sued the wrong defendant in the wrong court in the wrong country. In “Response To Form Interrogatories” Alaya Rahm fully admitted that he had been a daily user of illegal street drugs and alcohol since at least 1999 - 2005. Consequently, during Alaya Rahm’s “Divine Downfall” and India Today Anti-Sai interviews and during the filming of the BBC Documentary “Secret Swami” and the “Seduced By Sai Baba” Danish Documentary, Alaya Rahm was under the influence of illegal street drugs and alcohol while relating his alleged sexual encounters with Sathya Sai Baba. This crucial information wholly undermines Alaya Rahm’s credibility and irreparably compromises the integrity of his claims. Needless to say, this information has been purposely suppressed from the general public by Anti-Sai Activists and the media. Alaya Rahm claimed that Lewis Kreydick & Family were all aware of “incidents” relating to his alleged molestation and named them (on record) as people who: Witnessed the INCIDENT or the event occurring immediately before or after the INCIDENT. Made statements at the scene of the INCIDENT. Heard statements made about the INCIDENT by any individual at the scene. Had knowledge of the INCIDENT. Needless to say, Kreydick’s sworn and video-taped deposition wholly refuted all these points made by Alaya Rahm. The Society did not actively go out and attempt to discredit Alaya Rahm. Rather, they simply interviewed a witness named by Alaya Rahm himself and obtained a shocking and damaging deposition against him. The legal proceeding provided a forum in which Alaya Rahm’s claims could be thoroughly and critically examined. Through this process of investigation, it was discovered that Alaya Rahm and his family spoke at a number of retreats and conferences between 1995 and 1999 (during the time that the alleged sexual abuse events were said to have occurred). Inconsistent with Alaya Rahm’s later accusations, these conference talks (many of which were recorded and have been transcribed: Refs: 01 - 02), contain no suggestion of any wrongdoing. The earlier words spoken by Alaya would appear to refute his later accusations, especially Alaya’s whole-hearted and enthusiastic praise of Sathya Sai Baba and the writing of a love poem to him after allegedly being sexually abused dozens of times. Notably, in pretrial discovery, Alaya Rahm claimed (by his own admission) that he had suffered no psychological trauma that would have required medical or psychiatric care. Furthermore, Alaya identified no psychologist who had ever examined him! As a matter of fact, Alaya Rahm never saw an “expert psychologist” and his parents never sent him to one. Rather, the only help that Alaya obtained was a 3 day seminar from the Landmark Forum on “Empowerment, self help and personal growth” that cost $795 in June 2005 (5-9 years after his alleged abuse and 5 months after he filed his lawsuit)! That’s it. Barry Pittard conveniently ignored all of these crucial and pivotal facts about Alaya Rahm and instead blamed attorney William Brelsford although no one ( not even one critic or other ex-devotee) was identified to the court to support, help or defend Alaya Rahm in his allegations against Sathya Sai Baba. Barry Pittard is the picture of a lost-soul on the street, babbling to walls, trees and clouds, which cannot and do not respond to the rhetoric he repeats like an automaton. As a matter of fact, one can often see how Ex-Devotees thrive on repetition. “Deceive The Naive” is their motto and their parrot-like antics are used as psychological ploys to hypnotize, befuddle and mislead. Barry Pittard and Robert Priddy’s gutless personal attacks and viperine scribblings (which they attempt to peddle as Holy Writ) are evidence of their renewed desperation and blog delirium. The stronger critics attack Sathya Sai Baba, the more they expose the truth about themselves. They are (as other’s have pointed out for a long time) a small and vocal group of angry, bitter and mentally unstable defamers who care more for sensationalism and sleaze and care less for honesty and the truth.
