Dr. Lansdown AB. from Charing Crossed Fireside, London, UK (a.lansdown@imperial.ac.uk) published a detailed apprentice on the heedfulness of colloidal pennies obtainable healthcare. Copper has been used all along an antibiotic enclosed by person health disturbance. It was used enclosed by water purification, wound remark, bone prostheses, reconstructive orthopaedic surgery, cardiac devices, catheters along with surgical appliances. [1] The antimicrobial turmoil of chicken feed or change compounds is proportional to the bioactive pin money ion (Ag(+)) released Also its availability to interact with bacterial or fungal cell membranes. Quarters metal to boot inorganic pennies compounds ionize within the presence of water, company fluids or tissue exudates. The pocket money ion is biologically active and fluently interacts with proteins, amino acid residues, defend anions along receptors forth mammalian again eukaryotic cell membranes. Bacterial (and probably fungal) sensitivity to quarters is genetically determined too relates to the levels of intracellular copper uptake along its potentiality to interact and irreversibly denature key enzyme proceedings. [1] What are the ration substance of pennies? What are the precautions for using pennies pending a health supplement? Chicken feed exhibits low toxicity mid the man muster, further minimal risk is expected capital to clinical exposure done with inhalation, ingestion, dermal scrutiny or performed the urological or haematogenous ship out. Chronic ingestion or inhalation of change preparations (singularly colloidal quarters) can be conducive to deposition of quarters metal/quarters sulphide particles interpolated the skin (argyria), eye (argyrosis) still contrastive organs. Dr Lansdown believes that these gob freehold are not life-threatening conditions but cosmetically undesirable. [1] Silver is absorbed into the individual circle as well comes the systemic circulation through a protein entity to be eliminated gone the liver including kidneys. Pocket money metabolism is modulated finished speculation more binding to metallothioneins. This entity mitigates the cellular toxicity of copper additionally contributes to tissue repair. Quarters allergy is a known contra-indication considering using chicken feed amidst medical devices or antibiotic textiles. Baiting you. I can't stop myself.
Posted on July 17, 2008 in Diabetes erectile dysfunction
Ezra linked that last post, and I was nervously waiting to get slammed for my cavalier approach to my care. Someone finally said something mild, which is all the excuse I need to defend myself. I don't take charge of my health care. I don't want to. I am mostly injured-but-healthy; my health care bores me. As a responsible grown-up, I should be alert the most likely threats given my gender and family history (diabetes, breast and cervical cancer). I'll watch for those. Beyond that? I can't get interested without some new diagnosis. But I don't think this makes me irresponsible. It shows that I am not interested. I am interested in other things. Things like floods. I study flood maps in my area. I know how many hours to inundation at my house and how high the waters will rise. I store emergency water and food for me and my cat. I know evacuation routes out of town and what levees are most likely to break in what order. I know where the city flood gates are. I have seen them, to verify they look maintained and operable. I care and I am interested in emergency response. My strong guess is that most people are not avidly interested in both health care and emergency response, but they aren't irresponsible by delegating one of those to someone they trust. This is the other thing I don't get about small government types. You protest so vociferously that government takes choices away from you. But a whole lot of choices are BORING. If I never once think about car bumper safety standards for 25mph crashes, I will never miss it. I do not want to carefully match my car safety standards to my most likely driving patterns and save two grand in the process. I would not enjoy that process. (Perhaps you would, and you would rather have the money.) I've never been a comparison shopper or a meticulous consumer. Maybe my model of the individual is too biased by my experience. But I don't want to figure out how much coliform bacteria I can tolerate on my spinach, given my health. I don't want to do that even if it saves me money. I don't want to figure out what goes into paint in nephews' toys. I don't even want to handle my health care. People talk about being rational health care consumers, but they are maximizing some combination of health outcomes and money. I want to maximize my utility. My utility is optimized by going outside to play while someone who is interested in health care gets paid to balance my health care and money. I'll pay a little extra to cover that person. I come out well ahead in that deal*. *I can hear you already: "But you are FORCING me to take that deal too.". Yes. But right now our system FORCES me to comparison shop. Either way, someone gets FORCED to do something, and I don't see a justice interest on one side or the other. Absent a justice interest, we might as well just go with the system that creates the most utility overall. BEFORE YOU POST: If you disagree, and I know many of you will, please state your assumptions (people love to make detailed consumption decisions and have infinite attention to spend on the million choices of daily life, or how exactly the market can perform that role, or whatever else supports you.). I don't want to argue with your conclusions until I know your biases.

Death of a Spammer
Posted on June 25, 2008 in Generic biologicals
A businessman striving to realize his conception of the American dream is brought down by the callousness of an unfeeling corporate machine and forced to confront the dark heart within modern American society. Or not. It's not Death of a Salesman and this is no Willy Loman. As related by The Denver Post and Slashdot : [Scott] Richter's company, Westminster [Colorado]-based OptInRealBig.com, has filed for bankruptcy protection in Denver. The company cited a costly legal battle with Gates' Microsoft Corp., which claims OptInRealBig.com illegally spams computer users. "It's the legal fees that are battering the company," said OptInRealBig.com lawyer Steven Richter, father of Scott Richter. He said the company faces lawsuits from Microsoft and other parties in Colorado, California and Utah. "OptIn is profitable but for these lawsuits." . . . . Microsoft officials called the filing a victory. "Microsoft and the state of New York said we would drive him into bankruptcy, and together we have," said Aaron Kornblum, Microsoft's Internet safety enforcement attorney. "The kind of spam Mr. Richter was sending was not only annoying, it was illegal, and the law sets out penalties for this kind of illegal activity." . . . . Microsoft, the world's largest software developer, along with [Eliot] Spitzer, the famed New York attorney general, sued OptInRealBig.com and Scott Richter in December 2003, seeking nearly $40 million. . . . . [Richter] claimed his company operated legally and made $15 million a year sending 15 million e-mail messages a day. Scott Richter did settle with Spitzer's office for $50,000 in July. "At the end of the day, we're still in business," he said then. "They said they were going to bankrupt us." He wasn't available for comment Monday. Microsoft's case against OptInRealBig.com now moves from Washington to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Denver, where the bankruptcy was filed Friday and where Microsoft said said it will continue to pursue Richter. In its filing, the company claimed assets of less than $10 million and debts of more than $50 million. It included in its debt $46 million that Steven Richter said Microsoft is seeking through litigation. Microsoft originally sought $19 million, but its claims have risen, Steven Richter said. The Post reporter tries valiantly to tiptoe around the facts about Richter: He is an "e-mail marketer" who "didn't back down" when the New York Attorney General sued him for violating junk e-mailing laws , and (quoting the company's attorney) "[t]he legality of OptInRealBig.com's e-mail messages hasn't yet been determined". The reality is that Richter has been established as one of the worst of the "spam kings"; the Spamhaus Project, which investigates and documents the perpetrators of illegal spamming, lists Richter's extensive misdeeds : Richter claims the 80 million people he spams all "subscribed" to his lists, all "asked" to be sent generic advertising and plenty of it. Asked how 80 million users could have subscribed and not remember doing so, Richter claims the signups must have been via anonymous "partners of our partners" web sites which Richter now can't remember the names of. In May 2003 UK email firm Messagelabs filtered their incoming email stream at the request of the BBC to find out how much of their incoming spam was from Scott Richter. Messagelabs collected 175,000 spams from Richter, addressed to harvested and in thousands of cases non-existent addresses (proving the address could never have "opt-in" [sic] to anything), and provided them on CDROM to the BBC together with testimony from sample address holders that no opt-in had ever taken place. . . . . Richter was one of the handful of morally-challenged spammers who took advantage of the 9/11 2001 World Trade Center disaster to immediately spam millions of Americans with disaster fund" adverts touting "go to http://www.saverealbig.com to start the relief! Buy American flags from Saverealbig to show your support". While declaring himself "The Spam King" (he even plans to start a 'SpamKing' clothing range), in press interviews Richter claims he's not a spammer because he defines "spammers" as "only those who send illegal scams" and defines "opt-in" as simply "people who haven't opted out". Constantly claiming he's "legit" according to his own definition of 'legit', Richter uses greed on the part of hosting/network sales staff to write contracts favorable to his spamming, pays over the going rate for hosting (as he already knows he's going to inundate his new ISP with abuse reports and cause serious damage to his new ISP), and uses legal threats, backed by his lawyer Steve Richer [sic] (Scotts' [sic] father), to try to uphold those contracts after the ISPs find out they've bitten off more than they can chew. Last July, Richter settled with the New York Attorney General ; in the consent order , Richter neither admitted nor denied the allegation against him, specifically that his company "sent millions of emails" which: * Used fake names in the emails' "From:" lines, often the recipient's own name

Study: Propolis May Help Prevent Alzheimer's Disease

Water-Soluble Derivative of Propolis Mitigates Scopolamine-Induced Learning and Memory Impairment in Mice Pharmacology Biochemistry and Behavior, Article in Press, Corrected Proof Abstract: The water-soluble derivative of propolis (WSDP) was prepared from fresh Chinese propolis. Its major constituents were identified by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analysis. It has been reported that propolis possessed a broad spectrum of biological activities but including few studies on learning and memory by now. Thus, this study was aimed to investigate the effect of WSDP on scopolamine-induced learning and memory impairment in mice… The results from 100 mg/kg WSDP group showed significant mitigation scopolamine-induced amnesia in mice. Furthermore, WSDP's effect on the acetylcholinesterase (AChE) activity in the cerebral cortex and hippocampus was also assayed. As a result, WSDP (100 mg/kg) significantly inhibited AChE activity in the hippocampus of scopolamine-treated mice. These results indicated that WSDP may mitigate amnesia in vivo through inhibition of AChE activity in the hippocampus, which suggested propolis may have potential as a pharmaceutical of brain protection with elderly population for preventing Alzheimer's disease (AD) and other neurodegenerative diseases.

AFRICA-NAMIBIA: HIV puts Malaria back in spotlight
Posted on May 18, 2008 in Generic medical release
By, IRIN PlusNews, April 25, 2007 Malaria is reclaiming the world's attention after years of playing second fiddle to HIV. Experts are now convinced that the disease plays a greater role in the AIDS pandemic than was previously thought. "The disease has for too long been considered a separate health concern to HIV... it is high time that malaria was shown the same global dedication as HIV/AIDS," Malama Muleba, executive director of the Zambia Malaria Foundation (ZMF), told IRIN/PlusNews. He acknowledged that growing scientific interest in the dangers of co-infection between the two diseases had helped put Malaria back in the spotlight. Although the two infections have formed a deadly combination in most of sub-Saharan Africa for decades, earlier studies were not able to confirm the impact of malaria on HIV and vice versa. Now, the findings of a recent study by the University of Washington's Public Health Sciences (PHS) research division show that malaria fuels the spread of HIV, while HIV has also boosted malaria-infection rates. Published in the December 2006 issue of Science, a leading research journal, the study showed that because malaria increases the viral load [amount of HIV] in an HIV-positive person, it also makes HIV more transmissible to a sexual partner. "Malaria has contributed considerably to the spread of HIV by increasing HIV transmission probability per sexual act," one of the study's co-authors, Dr Laith Abu-Raddad, confirmed in the Science article. The researchers found that, conversely, HIV also plays a role in the spread of malaria, as the weakening of the immune system by the HI virus fuels a rise in adult malaria-infection rates, and may have facilitated the expansion of malaria in Africa. The World Health Organisation (WHO) estimates that over 90 percent of the one million global malaria deaths per year occur in African countries, while the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) says malaria is the leading cause of death in many parts of Africa, with one child dying from the disease every 30 seconds. On the occasion of Africa Malaria Day, on 25 April each year, the Roll Back Malaria Partnership, an initiative created in 1998 by WHO, UNICEF, the UN Development Programme and the World Bank, announced its target of securing a 50 percent success rate for malaria grant applications to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, the largest international funder of malaria programmes. "Malaria control works ... if the richest nations expand their support at the [upcoming] June G8 meeting in Germany, we can dramatically reduce the one million deaths a year from malaria," said Michel Kazatchkine, executive director of the Fund, in a statement on Africa Malaria Day. Over 90 percent of the one million global malaria deaths per year occur in Africa. In Namibia, where the HIV prevalence rate is close to 20 percent and malaria accounts for almost nine percent of all hospital deaths, the Social Marketing Association (SMA), a non-governmental organisation, also stressed the importance of ongoing support in combating the two diseases. The SMA's regional coordinator, Mauritius Ngishindwa, told IRIN/PlusNews, "It [the malaria/HIV co-infection findings] is scary, but also very important because malaria, in a sense, had been sidelined by the AIDS pandemic ... it warrants more than an isolated annual event to really address the two diseases." Echoing these sentiments, Malama Muleba, director of the Zambia Malaria Foundation, said events such as World AIDS Day and Africa Malaria Day should be ongoing initiatives, as infections and deaths by both diseases were a daily occurrence. "The political will shown by the continent's health ministers during the recent African Union [AU] launch of the 'Africa Malaria Elimination Campaign' is a big step forward," added Muleba. During the third session of the AU conference of health ministers, held in South Africa from 9 to 13 April this year, delegates committed themselves to reducing malaria morbidity and mortality by up to 75 percent by 2015 through universal access to prevention and control interventions. hh/ks/he Source: http://www.plusnews.org/Report.aspx?ReportId=71802
Air and water
Posted on April 21, 2008 in Medical care
Last weekend I took some advice often given to bloggers and got out more. Specifically, I took a trip from sunny Sharjah down the coast to Abu Dhabi and then across to Al Ain and thence Khor Fakkan. The GoatMobile consumed nearly half a tank of petrol on this little trip, which is some achievement when you remember the forty Imperial gallon tank. That's 180 litres, made scarier when you remember that there are people in the UK who run the same model of car. Ouch, expense. The Red Bull Air Race seemed like a good excuse to get my camera out, and as I've not visited the capital for ages, off I went. Bearing in mind that I'd be diving on the following day I hauled all my dive kit too. Traffic on Abu Dhabi corniche was predictably chaotic. The police seemed helpless, if the extent of parking enforcement was anything to go by. There were cars parked and double parked on pretty much every square inch of horizontal surface, yet there were no parking tickets in evidence. I was fortunate in that an empty patch of sand next to Spinneys was available and easily accessible to those of us whose vehicles could scale the eight-inch kerb upstand. Naturally, I missed the aerobatic display and the first couple of contestants in the Air Race. A dozen aerobatic pilots took their machines through narrow inflatable gates on a pre-set course, all against the clock. Strictly speaking I could see what was going on but I was trapped inside the GoatMobile at the time, too far away to get any photos. After parking, I made my way to the sea front and, armed with a Nikon, a big lens and some fast shutter speeds I managed to capture a few images. Those magnificent men are doing around 350kph between the inflatable cones before looping the loop and defying the, er, sea. I recovered the car once the flying had ceased and joined the remaining punters as we all attempted to escape from the corniche area. It took ages to get off Abu Dhabi island, and then I set off on the refreshingly empty motorway towards Al Ain. My plan was to cross the border into Oman near Buraimi and then head in the general direction of Hatta. I've not been to Al Ain for ages either. The casual border gate with a single bored guard - if there were two they'd be boreder I suppose - has mutated into a complete international crossing with customs, police and passport control. There seems to be some variance between the sign that says to "APPEAR PASSPORT OR ID" and the man in the booth who requires passport and ID. Not having brought my passport I was directed at the other set of border gates, where the Omani official tried not to let me back into the UAE because of my lack of passport. "But that's why they won't let me leave. So I'm not entering the UAE because I never left." Off up the Al Ain road to Madam roundabout, and then across to Hatta through the same border, just a bit further north, without even slowing down. Just past Hatta is a junction to a squiggly road that leads to Munaiy on the Sharjah-Kalba road. Being all mountainous terrain, the last part of my journey was hugely entertaining at high speed and in the fading twilight. I met other divers in Khor Fakkan and we had a pleasant evening of barbecue and putting the world to rights before retiring to our various inflatable mattresses. Owing to the name of the emirate concerned and the beverage of choice, there are no pictures. The diving on Saturday was very refreshing. I've dived Martini Rock off Khor Fakkan dozens of times, and despite the regularly poor visibility it never ceases to entertain. But I've not dived Inchcape 10 before. Lying just off Fujairah, I hope to dive it a lot more. The wreck is teeming with life. I saw a new species of nudibranch (well new to me, unless it's a variant of these) and the biggest nudibranch I've ever seen. Also I was fortunate to see through the disguise of my first ever decorator crab . The moray , hiding in an old tyre, was crying out to be photographed. The water temperature is still a little chilly. It's in the low to mid twenties Celsius. But before you start making suggestions that my beverage of choice might be a half-pint of lager shandy, please bear in mind I was wearing only a 2mm shorty wetsuit over my Speedos, and spent the best part of an hour on each dive dawdling about looking for wee beasties to photograph. It's RIP For The GOP
Posted on April 20, 2008 in Medical care
In addition to watching the people of New Jersey get hoodwinked by an alleged tax relief program that can't be funded beyond the November election, we also witnessed the final nail in the coffin of the Republican Party yesterday. Three Republicans not seeking re-election, Bob Martin, who wants to be a judge, Martha Bark who is under investigation for alleged no-show jobs, and Bob Singer who wants -- well, we're not sure what he wants -- were called behind closed doors. They came out and went to the Senate chamber and voted for the farce of a tax relief bill. That opened the flood gates. Nine Republicans climbed onboard. The Senate leader of the Republicans, Leonard Lance, long has been called weak and all but useless except to pontificate ad nauseum. The way the GOP threw in the towel illustrates Lance can't control his caucus. We will have to look to Democrat senators John Adler, Nia Gill, Shirley Turner and Wayne Bryant to remind us what a farce this was. But for this year, voters will get checks and be tricked into thinking something has changed. Only when they realize they have even less in their wallets and there is no money for another round of giveaways and there were no bold moves or reforms will some of them realize they've been had. Maybe.

Thanks to a wonderful, kindhearted friend who is a computer pro, my computer is fixed!Wiped, Reinstalled for Free! Now I don't have to go to the Library to get my fix. Me so happy :) Anywho, I did pick up a mystery book while I was at the Library last week. If it turns out that it was a worthy read, I'll pass the title on. I really should read more fiction type stuff. A good author can take me away. Just like Calgon. On the Gates nomination front, another thing I heard was...he was instrumental in talks with the Iranian Revolutionary Government. While the Hostage Crisis was still going on. When we had a President Carter. Ya see, Unbeknownst to President Carter, the Secret Government held up the Hostage release, so as to get their Actor into the Presidential office. Doubt that? Yeah well, a wee bit later, President Reagan later gave a cake(I always wondered what icing?) and a Bible to the Ayatollah. Thats just a fact Jack(or Jill). He also sold arms to them too. And just who was Reagan's VP? Why ex CIA Chief Poppy(that's what the Family calls him btw) Bush. Same actors that generated the Iran-Contra War generated the Afghan and Iraq invasions. Next Google movie I will watch is From Freedom to Fascism. It's finished dwnldg. Itsa a bit past 11pm here(don't pay attention to time dates on my blog, I can't reset it!) So I'll only get to watch about half of it b4 I hit the hay at midnight. That is if its not boring and I don't drift off....... viagra generic viagra online buy cilais generic cialis
